Green tea has become a new craze nowadays, and this could surprise many that the green tea leaves are collected from the same plant from where normal tea leaves are taken. Since the procedure of preparing green tea is different from that of normal tea, they both differ greatly in taste and aroma.

To make the harvested leaves into black tea they are put through the process of fermentation. For green tea they are steamed. The fermentation process makes the plant lose all its medicinal properties but gives it a flavor which is enjoyed by the public.

Green tea is made by steaming the leaves. Steaming also helps the leaves to hold on to their medicinal values. However a matter of concern is, that the people, who are not from Asia, are not appreciative to its peculiar taste.

Posted in Health on August 26th, 2009 by Nick Jarvis – Be the first to comment

Today’s market is saturated with workout regimens guaranteeing perfect, flat abs. Due to our busy lifestyles, many of these routines also claim to deliver in just minutes per day. While many such claims exist, each featuring a different number, eight is one of the more common.

What in particular is special about the number eight? Some may argue that a longer, nine-minute workout may be more effective. Still others argue for seven, supporting their claims with numerological qualities often associated with that number.

The notion that solid abdominal strength can be achieved with such a small time commitment certainly appeals greatly to our society of busy people, as well as the large number of others choosing daily to adopt a fitness regimen. This is certainly one of the major factors behind these small numbers.

Top Ten Hiking Essentials

Posted in Health on August 25th, 2009 by James Warner – 3 Comments

These are the most important items in your pack. Applicable to both dayhikes and backpacking trips, these will improve your safety, comfort and quality of your outdoor adventure.

First recommendation is to obtain a map of the area that you will be hiking. You don’t want to become lost, so pick up a map at the visitor center, ranger station or download one at www.usgs.gov. If you suffer an injury, you can use the map to aid rescuers in locating you.

Purchase a map reading compass and learn how to use it. Once you’ve learned how to orient the park map and the compass, you will know what direction you are facing, how to easily correct your course and get back on track.

Two, one liter bottles of water so that you stay hydrated. This is your minimum required intake per day, but since hiking is physically demanding you will drink more, especially in warmer climates. You can survive for a month without food, but only two or three days without water. You should have some sort of water treatment with you. I carry Aqua-Mira, which is a liquid purifying agent.

Vertebrae health is crucial for a person’s overall health and well being. A good massage chair sometimes will get rid of pain in key locations and leave someone recharged and without hurt. But, similar to many other electronics, there are a few different forms and brand names. Also, there are further points to take into consideration before spending money on one of these chairs:

* Upholstery – Massage chairs are made available by a couple different fabrics that cover it, back and sides. Materials are usually either, leather and a vinyl-leather mixture. Leather is hard to keep clean and it deteriorates quicker than vinyl will. In addition, leather is a lot more costly than is vinyl.

* Power or Manual – The massage mechanism of this kind of massage chair is powered via electricity. Whether they concentrate on the back, neck, or the back, neck, arms, and quads, the parts that knead and massage the body, do so by drawing electric current from the wall. However, other parts of the chair like the arm bars or foot cushions could be manually controlled by a lever. This is not always the case but mostly is with the less pricey chairs. Some of the top-of the line chairs include power to all parts.
