The best way to pinpoint the reasons why playing chess games is one of the favorite pastimes of people is by looking into the characteristics of the game itself. Those characteristics will account for why people like to play this game.

Chess is a game where little is left to chance. And the only kind of chance happening that can influence its outcome will be the chance that one player is not aware of possible moves that his opponent will make. Otherwise, with equal skill on both sides, the chess games often resolves in a stalemate.

Mostly, the playing chess games proceeds with well-planned moves from both sides of the board. Any one who does not logically connect his action with the status of the pieces on the board will come out losing the game. There may be an element of chance in it, but the deliberate effort of the player to influence the game to his advantage is a major part of the game.

The chess player makes purposeful counter moves to those of his opponent. He is fully accountable for his decisions. Even while playing the game, he becomes aware of his mistakes and his good moves and should be prepared to make up for slips or reinforce advantages taken. All depends on him.

Online Gambling – The DIY Casino!

Las Vegas has nothing on online gambling. I don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on flights, a hotel room and a rental car when I can just pop open a cold one, open up the Compaq Presario and get to stomping fools in a the Hold ‘Em Room. One interesting thing about online gambling that is much different than Vegas of course is your ability, or lack there of, to size up your competition. Luckily, Stonewashed Casino’s real time video conference feed gambling system allows you to do just that.

This ability to read someone’s actual body language is what sets the Stonewashed Casinos online gambling portal a cut above the rest. When I used to play at more second rate portal’s, I honestly was not making nearly as much money. When I can actually look into someone’s eyes, I can get a lot better idea as to whether or not they are trying to BS me. And reading the BS signals are what Hold ‘Em is all about!

Before Stonewashed Casinos, I was looking anywhere and everywhere for a dependable online gambling portal where I could endeavor into the depths of my vices late into the wee hours of the morning. I was just another miserable married guy with nothing to look forward to every night except diapers full of feces, screaming babies, and a nagging wife. Then I found Stonewashed Casinos, and I honestly feel like I am back in college again.

Anaheim Shreds Vancouver Goaltending In Blowout Win

Posted in Sports on July 22nd, 2010 by Ross Everett – Be the first to comment

After losing the services of starting goalie Roberto Luongo for the indefinite future with a broken rib, the Canucks may have breathed a sigh of relief too soon after backup goalie Andrew Raycroft’s performance in his first game in relief. After an excellent effort in an overtime victory over Los Angeles, Raycroft was torched for four goals in two periods before being pulled from the game. Corey Schneider, recently recalled from Manitoba of the AHL, played the third period in net giving up three more goals as Anaheim cruised to a 7-2 victory.

Anaheim has struggled to a 4-6-1 record this season, but rewarded their backers who chose to lay the -164 price as home favorites with the Ducks. The Canucks evened their record on the season at 7-7 with the loss. The 9 combined goals put on the board sailed OVER the posted total of 6.

The Ducks snapped a four game losing streak with the offensive outburst. Corey Perry and Bobby Ryan each tallied two goals and an assist in the lopsided victory. Mike Brown had the eventual game winning goal in the second period with his first career shorthanded marker, and even enforcer George Parros got in on the act with his first goal of the year. Jonas Hiller was sharp in goal for Anaheim, stopping 36 of 38 shots in the victory.

Leave The City Behind When You Visit Vilkovo

Posted in Sports on July 21st, 2010 by Вилкове Vilkovo.biz – Be the first to comment

Vilkovo, known as the Ukrainian Venice, is in the Danube Delta marshlands, situated exactly where the Danube River splits into three before entering the Black Sea. This fascinating area not only brings a diverse heritage to life, it offers insight into an extraordinary way of life.

Declared a town in 1775, Vilkovo has been home to Greek, Roman, Ottoman and Slavic cultures over the centuries, each leaving a distinctive culture behind, and contributing to the diversity of this picturesque town. Because so much of the town is waterway, boats are the primary form of transport, and each home has at least one boat moored at its doorstep. Most of these boats are built exactly as the Cossack ’seagull’ boats were centuries ago, although they are now commonly called ‘herring’ boats as that is what they are primarily used for. There are three churches in Vilkovo, all named after Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of fishermen, sailors and travellers.

One of the town’s main industries is of course fishing. The Danube herring caught in Vilkovo are sought after as a delicacy by restaurants from Paris to Moscow, and sturgeon caught in the Black Sea as well as salmon form the backbone of the fishing industry. Sport anglers will enjoy the giant carp and catfish that can be caught while visiting Vilkovo. All this fresh fish means that the restaurants of the town offer delicious fish dishes, showcasing the diverse cuisine of the area.

Perhaps most fascinating to see in Vilkovo is the houses. Homes are built on islands that have been built up out of the marshland using the river sediment. Each island has a home and a garden – often very fertile because the silt and sediment is used as fertiliser. Each year, the homeowners have to repair and restore their islands, digging sediment out of a trench around the island to prevent the islands from sinking back into the marsh. The trenches also provide access for boats, and help protect the homes from flooding.

Why Parents Should Give The Razor Mini Pocket Rocket To Their Sons?

Posted in Sports on July 20th, 2010 by Larry Richardson – Be the first to comment

In a week, it will be the birthday of my kid. Me and my wife were thinking what to give him as a gift. My son would be seven years old. It was an important age thus we wanted something nice for him. For his six years old, we bought him some very interesting puzzles. This kid is very intelligent and likes doing puzzles a lot. Thus he did receive a nice 4-boxes set. All those puzzles were good looking ones.

My kid did not need help to finish the puzzles though we were pleased to help him. Once finished, every puzzle went hanging in his room. After that, what else could be a great gift for such a boy ? Maybe some family trip: we and him a whole day together ! How interesting would it be ! Such a souvenir would only be for a single day. Not enough.

We then went to a local toys store. There were plenty of things to look around. From electronic toys to interesting books. We see a very nice bike: the Razor Pocket Rocket Miniature Electric Bike. Nice stuff for kids. We finished our tour looking for more puzzles. Maybe too much of them ? So we thought then. Will our son enjoy another year doing more puzzles ?
