Different Types Of Golf GPS Units Made Today

Posted in Sports on August 27th, 2010 by Max Pigford – Be the first to comment

It was only a matter of time until golf GPS units hit the courses of the United States and other parts of the world. After all, golfers love gadgets, tend to be fanatical, are always looking for an edge, spend a lot of time replaying the game in the clubhouse, and receive a lot of golf-related gifts.

All the units and down loadable programs provide access to tens of thousands of courses in the US. It is simple to make an online visit to the manufacturers site to ensure that your favorite courses are in a unit’s database before choosing it. Some units also tell you how far you are from a listed course, which can be useful information if you are thinking about visiting.

Previewing a course, plotting the hazards and measuring the distances to the greens, keeping the day’s scorecard and saving the data in your personal history, being able to track the length of your shots, and seeing hidden aspects of the course ahead are some of the neat features of a golf GPS.

Taking Business Out Of The Boardroom

Posted in Sports on July 18th, 2010 by Jane O'Shea – Be the first to comment

Getting on to the golf course and out of the boardroom during the business process may feel like a bit of a skive or a jolly away from work, but the benefits of this type of client contact are many and varied.

The most obvious benefit of playing golf with a potential working partner or client is that by joining in it is clear you have a shared interest. This automatically says to them that you are ‘their kind of person’ and that you have things in common, meaning they will be more open to what you have to say-both on and off the course.

Like anything that takes place outside of the office, being on the golf course means people relax and are less guarded, which means they are likely to talk more freely about sensitive subjects such as budget and business needs. Whereas in a sales meeting you may struggle to get answers to these questions, during a round of golf you may get answers without even asking the questions.

Another great bonus to striking deals out on the green is the fact that it is not just your companions who are more relaxed, but you as well. This means you will usually be seen in your best light and are able to see how well you would work with your companions.

Into The West Of Ireland – Ballybunion Hotel And Activities Overview

Posted in Sports on April 9th, 2010 by Michael J. Murphy – Be the first to comment

Ballybunion is a charming seaside resort town in the south west of Ireland which has been drawing in tourists to its sandy beaches and to its golf clubs for many decades.

A key factor in the village’s popularity is that it is one of the few towns in the area not to have been over-commercialized with coffee shops and trendy bars. Instead it has retained a small traditional Irish town feel to it that foreign and Irish visitors still wish to experience.

Many visitors arrive to seek out two main activities: enjoying the beaches in the area and golfing at Ballybunion Golf Club.

The central focus of the town in summer is the main beach. It is a family friendly beach with plenty of space and good quality sand. The local surf school has become popular in recent years offering equipment rental and surfing lessons for all levels (the waves are not particularly high so it is an ideal spot for beginners).

Any golfer would love to just get away from it all with nothing to do but play golf, all day, every day. Golf vacations were made for them! And resorts know this! Many resorts have developed destination golf packages that not only cater to the golfers, but to the rest of the family who don’t play golf.

Your ability and your finances will help you to decide precisely what choices you have. Many of the most attractive and challenging courses the world over are located in England and Scotland. Turnberry and St. Andrews have been in existence since golf was first invented and these courses have been lovingly maintained continuously for over a hundred years. Paying tribute to their historic charm, many golfers seek out one of the many ancient manor estates in the area that have been remodeled into high end resorts. Your family will always find plenty to keep them busy as you enjoy some of the most historic greens in the world.

If heading overseas isn’t quite in the budget this year, there are literally hundreds of options here on the other side of the pond. Check out the courses used by the PGA. If getting out of the cold and heading to warmer climates sounds interesting, head to Miami and get reservations at a nearby hotel so you can play at the Doral Golf and Country Club where the likes of Bob Hope, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods have teed off in the past. Local hotels offer some great packages!

This Friday Woods admitted he had disappointed his family, friends and fans according to the news sources

He didn’t mention the women with whom he is alleged to have had affairs, other than to talk of his shame at his actions.

During the news conference, her lawyer said Woods should apologise directly to her client.

Woods allegedly sent Miss James in abundance of 1,000 text messages and saw her several times a month nearly every month during the course of their relationship.

Miss James’s lawyer Gloria Allred said her 32-year-old client, who had cut her hair short and dyed it red, suffered “anguish and distress” following her three year affair with Woods.
